If you’ve been following us for a while, you might have already seen some of Daterra’s social projects on the rural area of the Cerrado region. One June 24th , one of our long-planned programs came to life: the 1st Ecological Trekking.
The event welcomed 35 students from a nearby school, ranging from 7 to 12 years old. Joined by their teachers and Daterra’s team, they spent a day at the farm enjoying educational activities such as storytelling, trekking through the cerrado and dynamic studies highlighting the importance of environmental preservation.
Above, the students from the local school E.E. José Eduardo de Aquino trekking trough Daterra’s environmental preservation area.
Watch Tião, Ezequiel and Maria Clara, three attendees, talking about their experience:
Hopefully, the children left the farm feeling inspired by coffee and nature. That was our main goal – not only to build a socially and ecologically responsible mindset, but also to broaden their relationship with the community.
